About me

Hi, I’m Dee! I’m in my thirties and still finding my footing in this world. Takeaways is my little corner of the web where I share about my love for travel and adventure.

For the last 10+ years, my 9-5 work has revolved around climate change, digital campaigning, environmental sciences, and their intersection with other social justice issues. If you’re into labels, I am an environmentalist, too. It’s quite ironic to be one while also being passionate about something so carbon-intensive as traveling. That’s why for the last decade, I have been discovering ways to travel better.

I also created a blog called There Dee Goes and started travel writing. I’m embarrassed to say that I haven’t posted there consistently and recently. Now, my writing is here on Substack and it has been so welcoming and heartwarming to find a community here.

When the time comes, I will monetize Takeaways. I hope you support me then. I have big dreams of creating and compiling guides that put sustainability at the forefront.

Apart from the topics I’m writing about, I’m open to having conversations about digital campaigning and organizing, how to bring power back to the people, and the climate discourse.

I’m not a professional writer, but I hope you could get something from my weekly dispatches.
